• Shell Jacket Care – Essentials Air out garments to save water and energy. Wash only when exposed to salt water, sweat, or heavy dirt, as these reduce breathability and water repellency. Use a washing bag to protect the garment and prevent fiber leakage—dispose of lint in the trash, never rinse in water.
• Machine wash cold with mild, eco-certified detergent. Avoid fabric softeners—they harm both the environment and garment performance. Hang dry, then apply heat (dryer, cabinet, or iron) to reactivate the water-repellent surface. Reapply DWR treatment when needed using organic spray or wash-in formulas.

Recyclable Products with this label are made from materials that can be reused for new garments instead of becoming waste. Houdini aims to stop using virgin resources from the earth’s crust by 2030. To close the loop, worn-out garments should be returned to Houdini via recycling units in stores and selected retailers.

Circular Circular products are made from recycled and recyclable or renewable and biodegradable fibers. Unlike the linear model of extract–use–discard, this approach minimizes environmental impact by reusing existing materials. Worn-out garments can be returned to Houdini to keep the cycle going.

Recycled Garments with this label contain at least 50% recycled fibers, often more. Sources include used clothing and PET bottles. Houdini primarily uses recycled polyester, which significantly reduces CO₂ emissions and water use compared to virgin polyester—up to 32% less CO₂ and 94% less water in mechanical recycling. The key shift: turning waste into raw material.
