What makes it special?
The design team at Houdini felt that they were missing a product for those activities when a regular baseball cap would be too heavy or clunky. They found the perfect performance fabric and the C9 Cap was born. The C9 cap will keep your head dry, cool and shaded but you won’t even know you are wearing it.

How does it work?
C9 Cap is made from C9 Ripstop, an ultra light, cool and highly breathable fabric. It’s made from 100% recycled and recyclable polyester, eliminating the concept of waste. It’s treated with a biobased durable water repellent free from any PFAS or other toxic chemicals. Despite the light fabric, this cap is both wind- and water resistant. It dries very quickly and will shade your head from direct sunlight.

When should I use it?

Liquid Light Cap is the answer, and the durable design will keep you comfortable for many years to come. It is perfect for running, hiking, kayaking or beach volleyball. C9 Cap is made from recycled fibers and recyclable fibers and Houdini kindly asks you to return it to them when it’s completely worn out. Houdini has recycle units in all their own stores and many retailers.

Circular

The Circular label means the product is made from either recycled and recyclable materials or renewable and biodegradable fibers. Most products today follow a linear lifecycle—resources are extracted, used and discarded—which is not sustainable long‑term. Houdini aims to close the loop by reusing existing materials, and your help is essential: when your Houdini garment is fully worn out, please return it to their recycling units available in all Houdini stores and many retailers.

Recycled

The Recycled label indicates that the garment contains at least 50% recycled fibers (often more). These fibers come from used clothing or sources like PET bottles. Houdini primarily uses recycled polyester, which significantly reduces CO₂ emissions and water use compared to virgin polyester—one supplier reports 32% lower CO₂ emissions and 94% less water use for mechanically recycled polyester. The biggest shift is turning “waste” into raw material instead of relying on crude oil.

Recyclable

The Recyclable label means the product’s raw material can be reused to create new products rather than becoming waste. Houdini’s goal is to use no virgin resources from the earth’s crust by 2030. Circular products made from recycled and recyclable materials are key to this transition. When your garment is worn out, please return it to Houdini’s recycling units in their stores and at participating retailers.

When washing clothes made of synthetic fabrics, the use of a washing bag becomes even more important: It prevents microplastics from entering into rivers and oceans.
