HANWAG only uses yak leather from herds raised using sustainable livestock management in Mongolia. The hides are processed by our long-standing partner, the Josef Heinen leather factory in a sustainable, responsible and certified production process. Its felt inner lining and felt lined footbed are made from 100% pure new wool – naturally mulesing-free. Wool felt is durable, breathable, temperature-regulating and very comfortable to wear. Underfoot, the innovative‚ non-slip Step Zero outsole perfectly rounds off the resource-saving construction. It is made from a mix of biodegradable and renewable raw materials, e.g. from by-products of wheat production.
